Global Interior Design London - Blog
London’s icy weather in the 2009-10 winter season is causing havoc throughout the nation. It has a lot of people turning up the heat in their homes. But as an interior designer, I know that too warm can be really uncomfortable. Professional London interior design consultancies will use temperature charts for both commercial and residential interior design jobs. The hottest recommended air temperature? One of London’s many indoor swimming pools – children need to stay warm when they are dressed only in their swimming trunks! A toasty 27˚C is recommended by commercial interior designers under these circumstances. By contrast, the coolest environment in my interior design handbook is a factory where labourers are doing heavy work – why waste your electricity heating inventory or machinery? You can keep the factory at 13˚C and just ask employees to throw on an extra layer. In residential settings, my interior design team will recommend 16˚C for cloakrooms, 18˚C for bedrooms and 20˚C for dining rooms.
