On Thursday I was discussing with a London interior designer colleague what makes the best designs so timeless and lasting.
We decided that it is all about the interior designer’s ability to balance the furniture with the overall space. Can the interior designer create a concept that works both in a contemporary London flat and in a historical suburban mansion? Can the interior designer come up with something that is clean and fresh but also rooted in ancient times and forgotten treasures? The results can always be measured by looking at how the interior is used many years later. The best designers will create spaces that are as fabulous today as when they were first imagined.
