Global Interior Design London - Blog
Trainee interior designers are often taught that, with a large house or London mansion, the very first glimpse as guests come to visit will take in the gateway that showcases the entrance to the driveway. One interior designer technique that I love is to use recessed uplighters, which simply glance the posts to either side but allow for more impact than a standard lantern. When the posts are uplit from both sides, the interior designer can duplicate the same luxurious effect on departure as on arrival. Uplighters may also illuminate any ornamental features, such as ornate ironwork that may emphasise a gate or stand guard alongside a winding London driveway. In my opinion, interior designers should focus as much on outdoor lighting as on interior furnishings!
